At the beginning of the upcoming Senate Finance Committee Hearing, a powerful 5-minute video highlighting the stories of survivors and their families from UHS, Devereux, Acadia, and Vivant (formerly Sequel) facilities will be played. This video will be a montage of survivor stories, allowing us to represent as many voices as possible.
Instructions for Recording Your Video:
Preparation:
Find a well-lit, quiet place with no distractions to ensure your video is clear and audible.
Use our sample script as a guide to structure your story. Link to sample script.
Recording:
Begin with the opening line:
"My name is [Your Name], and I was abused at a [UHS / Acadia / Devereux / Sequel/Vivant] Facility from [Year] to [Year]."
Keep your video to one minute or under to ensure we can include as many stories as possible.
Record your video in horizontal or landscape format using the back camera on your phone.
Make sure to look at the camera while you are telling your story

Share a brief overview of your experience and its impact on you.
Be authentic and speak from the heart.

**Due to time constraints, not every story may be included in the 5-minute video. However, we are committed to sharing these impactful stories on social media following the hearing to ensure your voice is heard and your story contributes to the larger movement for change.
